| Welcome to the Foreign Language Section!
While I understand that there may be some more effective ways to learn a foreign language, like Rosetta Stone, and perhaps you can easily translate things online that are written in foreign languages by using Google Translator at http://translate.google.com/ what I'm hoping to accomplish here with this section is to: A- Get the idea out there in this community as well as serve as a continuing reminder of the importance of learning foreign languages, B- Show basic words and phrases in certain foreign languages, if anyone needs a list of things to remember quickly - and if anyone who is fluent in such languages notices any mistakes, to be able to correct them so that I or any other Admins, or Mods of this section can edit it, C- Find out who on this forum is fluent in languages that you're fluent in, or interested in learning. D- Be a fun place to talk to others in foreign languages.
If you're interested in learning foreign languages (and I would hope for anyone's sake that they are), then please post the following 2 things:
1- What languages you're interested in and how fluent you are in them, be it just a very little bit, or kind of fluent, or very fluent.
2- What languages you're interested in learning. Be it just certain ones, or as many as you're able to learn, and if you want to learn as many as you can, let us know that but also let us know at least one or a few languages that you're more likely to focus on learning sooner.
Unlike many of the other threads on this forum, this one is not intended to be a place of discussion, but rather a place where everyone who is interested in being involved with this section, including myself, can answer these 2 questions. I'll start by replying, to give everyone an idea of what I would expect the responses here to be like.

| 1- I know a little bit of Spanish from when I took it for about a year or so in High School, and also from mid-2010, when I was on a Spanish TV, and had spoken with several hundred Spanish speaking people, and little bits I've studied over the years. I know some Spanish but not a lot. I also know a little bit of French I've studied on my own and picked up just the basics, but very quickly. I'm not sure yet how much I remember unless I use it, but if I read it again I'm sure I could again pick up very quickly what I learned before, and more. I also know very little bit of Japanese, from one of my old Martial Arts Dojo's, where some of it was spoken then, and a little bit from when I had studied the basics with ShowStopper.
2- As many languages as I can, but a few of the languages I'm most interested in learning sooner, would be languages such as improving my Spanish, French, and Japanese, as well as learning Arabic. Mandarin Chinese, Koren, and Russian.

| 1- I know some Spanish, I can read it quite well, understanding it is a little harder. I have the pronunciation down pat, I just forgot many of the words. I can't understand spoken English that well, so it's a zillion times harder in another language. I am also learning the very basics of Japanese, as it's a language I've always wanted to learn.
2- I would really like to know more Spanish and Japanese. I don't really know what other languages I want to learn right now. |

| 1. Dragon, just a bit. 2. Elven (Quenya)
Hey it can be fantasy languages too right? ;]
But honestly it's really interesting how people can invent new languages too.
Why not have the heroes create a language for heroes only? For a ...coded type of thing.

| I know a lot of sub-communities have their own language. |
