Give A Proper Description of a Person

If you want to give some information about a person over to an artist so they can make a rendition of that person, here's what you're going to need:

- Age Approximation
- Race
- Hair Style, Features, and Color  (ex. Farrah Fawcett hair, brittle looking, and grey)
- Eyes (spacing, color, size)
- Nose (size, width, nostril size)
- Mouth (size, lips, mouth lines)
- Chin
- Skin (smoothness, lines, facial hair, scars, tattoos, blemishes, etc)
- Head Shape
- Accessories (jewelry, hat, glasses, religious marks, etc)


I wanted to get this out because I was asked to draw out a picture of a perp who attacked a girl, but this was what I was given:
Hispanic male, late 20s, dark sunglasses, black Blazers cap, short hair, and a few hairs on upper lip.

In reporting to police a description, they prefer an order, a prioritizing.

Race
Gender
Hair (color or style or both)

And then the description ideally is described DOWN from the head. If there is a very defining characteristic though, like bright orange pants, you'd say that right after the gender.

That's just for reporting. In artistic rendering I would imagine everything ideally is described in full detail.

The one thing I would add is approximate height and weight.

So, reiterating what was already said, I would probably go with:

- Race
- Male/Female
- Hair
- Clothing
- Height
- Weight

- Direction of Travel

- Vehicle description & License plate (if applicable)

...plus make a mental note of all the information Raven listed for creating a decent sketch.

If practical, i would suggest take a photo of the person and vehicle/license plate with your cell phone.
