| There seems to be two schools of thought on this. Some folks think that uniforms should be dark, others think that there should be a fair amount of color.
No matter what you choose, be sure to tell us why!

| I've always been a supporter of a reasonable amount of flash. It's a great way to direct force towards a certain area (like the most protected) and it makes you stand out as being a superhero.
Dressing in black isn't terrible, but I find that the cops tend to want to know what you're up to. Give them a little flash of color and they'll ignore you.

| I voted for the first option. Even though I mainly use black and green, since those colors work for me.
I think my real answer would be somewhere in between that and the 2nd option. I personally prefer darker colors, but with other colors with it.
The colors on the outside work best when reflecting who we are. What colors we like best and are fitting to who we are as heroes.

| I want to point out that a definite colored symbol or a colored area will draw attention to those you come across. If you wear a bulletproof vest and have a logo drawn upon it (or placed over it if its under your suit), then you'll have a greater chance of having blows be right there (whether or not its shooting or a fist fight). | |

| Number three. I feel being a superhero is about being a rolemodel, the more positivie, fun attention you can get the more positive a change you can make by spreading your message and being avery observable and noticable rolemodel. It's a marketing descision, and your advertising a new way to be human. At least for me. Stay true. Stay free. Stay safe. --Hero Boy |

| Those who work in the Night shouldn't worry about flash, it's an unnecessary element that doesn't need to be addressed. The only flash that needs to be addressed is the amount of speed it takes to nail a perpatrator and then disappear into the Night.

DarkShadow Rising... I don't quite agree. A highly reflective logo could save your life. It could help distinguish you from the bad guys, it might save you from being hit by a car, and it can give the bad guys a place to focus on (I say this with the thought that you have some heavy duty protection behind the logo). If you get any press, then people are naturally more receptive to someone wearing color than straight black. I'm not saying "go wear a blaze orange jumpsuit". I'm just saying "don't be afraid to have some color accents". Here's something I grabbed from a Color Psychology site. Think of this as more of a beginning guide to color psychology. Color Psychology: The Color White

| Ironic words coming from an individual who models themselves after a black bird... I do concede about not looking like a threat to the general public, but i'm not in this for a fashion critique by others. The suit i will use is a projection of who I am and with much time and effort, will get the job done. In my opinion, something flashy on a uniform meant for working in the dark would be nothing short of putting a target on your back or sending up a flare, and in this line of work, that wouldn't be a good idea. | It depends on what you want to do. If you are a public hero/activist you can easily go with flash. I refer to captain ozone here. If you are an angle grinder man the flash works. Some suits should fade into the background. | |

| Whoa....Blue and Yellow describe me perfectly, and I wasn't even aware of the psychology of colors when choosing my color scheme! (Yes, some of the traits are a bit less desirable; what can I say; I'm an honest, self-aware realist haha. XD) --Hero Boy |

DarkShadow Rising... If you have ever seen a raven you would know that they can often have a blue or purple shine to their feathers. Often, in paintings and illustrations, ravens are again colored with blues and purples.

| Now that I think about it....your right. Ravens DO have dark, shiny colors that accent their black feathers.
I stand corrected.

| There are different kinds of "flashy".
I'm all for making things look good. That can be done using a cool outfit, but it also means a lot what shape you're in. Are you are slim female in a tight dark suit with sexy curves? That's flashy! That'll twist some heads.
Looking good means a lot for the overall image of the community. Looks sell. Being able to say something intelligent when the media interviews you, means a reinforcement of that positive image the good looks gave us.
The outfit, no matter what state it's in (good looking, or terrible home made from bedroom sheets), is in my opinion supposed to make the statement: Look! Something is seriously wrong with the world, and apparently it requires a superhero before anything is done about it. No one else seems to be doing anything.
Something like that.
If the outfit is flashy and cool and sexy and hot and so forth, then that statement will get a lot more listeners.
BUT - this is a huge community, and it's not everyone's task to make that statement. Some of you has chosen to lurk in the dark and stay hidden - and that's fine too. Everything is fine, whatever and however you choose to engage yourself in our common mission.
.....but if possible, you should still make it look cool. ;-)

| While I don't think the looks should be the #1 most important thing - image, fame, popularity - not ingredients of heroism - BUT - I do think that they can at times be a bonus to heroes in helping people pay attention more to what we have to say. Unfortunately, that can also lead to distractions as well.
I always liked it best when there was a good balance of weird interesting personalities and friendly people who take the patrolling thing and heroism seriously.
