| First id like to apologize...my phone is my internet so touchscreens are not easy to work with sometimes.
Please call me Cat. Ive been in the rlsh movement since 06 however I didnt know thats what it was. I stopped the robbery at a store I worked at using training I had received over the yrs by a family member in the army rangers.
I did what little I could alone making care packages for homeless. Being alone made it difficult but not undoable.
In 08 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. So I had to back off some. I continued care packages and donating clothes. I also tried to hone my de-escalating skills by becoming a peer counselor for the recently diagnosed of terminal ilnesses.
I have hand to hand exp as well as medical since I worked in the field.
Many already know me but feel free to say hello. I am looking for likeminded ppl to talk to maybe even join a group.
Thank you for listening Sincerely, Cat

| Cat Fable,
Welcome to the Heroes Network! One of us. Did you know other superheroes in the RLSH Community (It isn't a Movement - but it's a good thing that it isn't - nor should ever be - here's why http://tothian.blogspot.com/2012/11/real-life-superhero-community-vs.html ) back in the earlier days? Or were you only offline as that?
Anyway, despite what you read in that blog post - I wish you well in your endeavors. Take full advantage of the information you'll find on this forum to help you in what you do as a hero.

| Ive only been online a few yrs as one of you. I used the term movement because nowadays its hard to know what to really call ourselves. The community usually are ppl just looking for pats on the back and im not down w that. I just want to do whats best for my community and others as well. If I can help I will do so any way shape or form. I acted under my civvie account on fb until I was 'told' there were rules. I say we help doesnt matter if we are geared like batman wannabes or not.
Thank you for the welcome!!!

| Cat Fable,
I can understand that the bigger it gets, and the wider range of diversity we find in the individuals and cliques/groups within the community as a whole.
A movement seems too political by nature, with one set standard that applies to everyone, which does not apply. For example, the fact that you disagreed with me, I still respect you. In fact, I'm glad we got to have this interesting discussion. It's mentally stimulating and it helps others to understand things as well, so that even if the logic that they present is challenged, they'll already know all of the different ways of looking at it.
With a community, I guess in a way it is a sort of thing as patting each other on the back - not as the whole standard entirely, but rather just a place of communication, and/or people that communicate. I do like for the community to be a bunch of people who get along, but also argue/debate things that matter to them. We all have to stand for what we believe in. It isn't so much that I need the community to be pat on my own back - although it is close to have good friends - and, I am willing to be a friend to other superheroes. I want people to feel welcome in this community, I want them to enjoy it, I want to keep people motivated and interested in standing up for what they believe in as well as me doing the same, and also keep people wanting to continue with doing the superhero thing.
If we can all help each other, we aren't just helping each other but we're helping other superheroes help the world.
Thank you for this discussion Cat Fable.

| I sometimes forget that Tothian. To be kind and considerate whether to heroes or just the general public. I belive it has to do with my upbringing, which is my business though. Some things i'm willing to admit, like I did when I first met you and in my introduction under "Sound Hound" but those differ entirely from the personal personal upbringing that I had. Old habits are hard to kill, especially when they've become you.
I found one way to harbor those. For getting rid of them entirely is impossible. When I left my state and grabbed the world by the balls and bellowed into its face "I control my life from this point on!"
Thats what I wanted to say what I did instead was kiss the ground then said "Lets see the kind of dragon the world gets..".
It feels nice. It also feels ominous. Probably more so because I was denied by my family to go live a drifters life. So I just left them in the night(prepared) one night. It's been a week or two since.
Left Kane County Illinois and now I'm at the Fairview Tennessee Public Library.
Noooooowwwww pushing all that aside hehaha! Welcome Cat, truely. Do not worry about how you get onto the heroesnetwork or what you use to stay on it. I used my xboxlive's internet explorer app and used a controller (then eventually bought a chatpad for it later on) I did what I functionally could. As I'm sure you are.
Best of wishes | |

| I like how everyone is so kind regardless of differing opinions...backgrounds...where they hail. To be surrounded by such positivity is great. Thank you all for the welcomes from the bottom of my heart. Btw this is to all of you. | |

| Lost Dragon,
Very interesting.
Also, as for using the Heroes Network in public places, isn't always the best idea since you don't want other people finding your personal info or stuff like that. Unless you're just using wifi on a laptop or something.
Cat Fable,
It's good that people remember we're on the same side. Sometimes we do argue for what we believe in, since rude honesty seems more refreshing than false kindness. It can be funny and/or educational. But it doesn't mean there can't be respect as well.
